Legal Technology Community Platform

Tech in Legal is a community driven platform that helps legal departments of Dutch companies and institutions make smarter choices when it comes to choosing and using technology, without getting lost in vendor marketing tactics. Additionally, it supports Dutch scientific research to understand how such products and services are actually being used and implemented, all with the goal of improving them.

No legal department knows it all. Every department has things to learn and the world of technology is changing rapidly. We know from experience that more mature departments can sometimes even learn from departments that are just starting to experiment with legal tech, just as well as the more obvious other way around. We firmly believe that, when it comes to choosing and using technology, legal departments are not competing with each other. Sharing knowledge and experiences is the best way to accelerate innovation. This can drive legal practice forward and help departments create better value for their respective organizations. Of course, departments only share what they want to share.

The Tech in Legal community is supported by researchers from the Legal Tech Lab of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The researchers help collect, analyze and emulate experiences from the community members, which they can then report on to the community or publish about (in aggregated/anonymized form). This collaboration between research and practice thus offers useful insights that will help departments navigate the legal technology landscape going forward.
